Nice, they took the designs of the buttons from apple.com though.

Itīs good that they focus on the SEARCH!

Where are the directory listings which used to appear on the top. I've just paid good money for directory listings and I can't see them anymore :(

The directory link is just below the search box. A bit less prominent than before.

Just had a look at lycos directory in Mozilla. Tsk Tsk Tsk Lycos what are you thinking ! So many people use mozilla please I beg of you sort it out ! Also their banner on the directory page is cutting into the navigation even in explorer. I would expect better from lycos.

You guys sure this is new? In other (ahem) Lycos.Europe entities this look has been introduced weeks ago.

The really interesting thing is what Makemetop says: where are the paid directory listings at the top of serps? It's rare that I see them...

So it appears the new design started to show in Germany, France and Italy in mid July (16 July to be precise) and now slowly migrates to the other Lycos.Europe portals.

See discussion here
[webmasterworld.com...]

There has been a press release [pressroom.lycos.de] where Lycos states the new design results from eyetracking studies and user requests, performed by the Technical University of Bielfeld.

What really bothers me though, sorry for repeating myself here, is that those expensive directory listings don't show on regular serps anymore.

>those expensive directory listings don't show on regular serps anymore.

Yes, I am NOT happy about this - a few hundred pounds down the drain if they don't return and (I would have thought) a loss of extra income to Lycos! I also can't get the UK/Ireland regional filter to work at all - results are the same for regional and worldwide.
