Hi
Just going through the process of signing up with A$K as an answer for a specific key phrase. We are paying .30p a click thru. Just wanted to know if any of you have tried the service and what you paid per click thru. I was quoted .50p at first but managed to haggle down a bit. We run a classified site and the keyword is specific for people who wish to advertise. We use overture already and the average we pay for the term is about .20p. Love to know what you guys pay and whether you got good ROI.

How did you initiate the process?

may be worth mentioning that overture is only charging .20p in a further email. Don't think ASK has the traffic of overture ! could be wrong

Yeah did that already seeing as I have top bid for that already. They just mentioned that there is a certain amount of branding with Ask. I'll let you know how it all goes. One thing that surprised me is the traffic levels form Ask, they seem to far outweigh Google.co.uk I have a feeling that there quality of traffic is far higher too. I always track my traffic very carefully in particular where my orders come from and google tends just to be the lookers not the buyers. Just my findings of course.

Are we talking about Ask.com or the UK version? They are very different.
For example, Ask.com lists results from teoma but AskUK still reverts to the old Direct Hit results.

7 days into this I can state that I'm amazed at the amount of traffic we are being sent for a very specific search term answer. The traffic is very good quality too. The only thing is that I am watching the traffic coming through and I've noticed that soem ip addresses are showing an awfu lot. Take one for example that clicked 20 times back and forth. DO you think I have a case not to pay for this? I'm assuming its a competitors site trying to make me bankrupt.

uk_dokey - sorry for the delay in replying, somehow missed the question in your post.

I would definitely challenge this one. The other PPC engines are supposed to have systems in place to prevent this.

Let us know how you get on
