My site gets quite a lot of traffic from google, however I seem to get none from lycos, any tips on optimizing my site for lycos.

Generally a site that does well in Google seems to do well in Lycos.

Of course, it depends on how competitive your target phrases are, but most of my customers do well with a 'one size fits all' optimisation. There are a few where we optimise separate pages for Inktomi, but it seem that Lycos and Google like the same things.

What can help is getting into the Lycos Directory.

The directory has been a little slow to react in the past, but one of our newish sites was accepted in recently, so hopefully this is improving.

Anyone see anything different?

Thank Ove - my directory comments apply to Lycos UK - of course, Lycos 'the world' is better addressed elsewhere

Ove

Yup, that seems to be the case.

Somehow my site got into the directory in 2 categories (not my fault, honest!). I also have a PPC campaign running.

Consequently, I now have the PPC at the top followed by positions 1 &2 in the SERP.
