We have got excellent all round position throughout the the UK for a handful of top keywords. I dont really know what to do next as I can't improve that side any more. We run a car classified site and were wondering what else we can try to make it big. Have you guys had any experience of what works to go to stage 2 (beyond the net)? We tried local paper advertising but with no luck at all. I would love to hear your suggestions especially from expereinced web pros who have taken a national business into the next stage.

If your budget is up to it, try radio ads. Lots of people listen to the radio while internet surfing, or at work. You can see if the ad is working if you set up a special domain that is only advertised by radio.

Small classified ads in car magazines advertising your website and main products seems an obvious vehicle.

If you want it to work better than it currently is i would sort out the database output. I have tried searching for a BMW any model, with price constraints and keep receiving the wrong results, it reminds of the churn that Looksmart produce.

Seriously though, look at how you could improve the usability of the site. I have numerous comments for you to assist. Sticky me if you want some honest feedback.

How much traffic does your all round exposure translate into ?

I think there is a lot of interne potential still for your line of work but it seems that PPC is taking over as the preferred route for a lot of advertisers, so maybe you have to decide if you going to follow or try something different.

I'd look to try to get in bed with some of the finance houses to get preferred supplier status or something like that.

Hope that helps and good luck.

Hi
We currently get about 1,200 unique sessions a day and do use Overture and Google CPC. Would love to have further comments on how best to improve the site also but how do I sticky mail?

>how do I sticky mail?

Look up top, you'll see "You have mail:" You've got a message.

It doesn't render correctly in NN4.X

On the search pages the heading for each selection doesn't appear, you may want to approach this or just forget about NN4.x users.
