Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Twitter and Yahoo join Apple and others in expressing concerns over the UK's Investigatory Powers Bill over encryption, bulk collection of data and openness.
For most businesses they don't want their data open to investigation lightly, so it's understandable there's concern on their part. Consumers ought to be concerned, too, because the plans, dubbed "snoopers charter," record data and want that held for a year.

The concerns by the group are wide ranging, and user trust is one of the first points they raise. I suspect a bigger concern is that it will weigh heavily upon their management of the data, including the location of the data store.
