Hiya,

I received this from them last night, they must have got us from DMOZ. Anyone know who they are??

Due to a technical problem, we are asking all sites to re-register
with UmYup.co.uk

Not to tar everyone with the same brush, but I am getting a lot of this type of email.

They usually end up being a front for a 'submit to 15000 search engines for £10' outfit, or an IT company who are using a 'search engine/directory' as a lost leader of their particular piece of technology.

Not to say this is the case here, but I would proceed with some caution particularly before submitting clients own sites.

From my statistics at umyup:

Date registered: 2000-06-01 00:00:00

Number of visitors to date: 25

Still - better than nothing I suppose :)

They used to be UkPlanet.com
and became UmYup.co.uk at the beginning of December.

They seem to be contacting everyone who was registered with UkPlanet.

ahhh UkPlanet.com eh??

never heard of them either :)

don't recall ever getting any refferals from them, so I'll continue to go along with my policy of ingoring them

(ingorance == bliss... ???)

I've been spammed by "UmYup" a number of times, asking me to "re-register" - As I have never registered with this site, they are compounding spamming with lying.

Obviously a highly reputable company.
