Does anyone have any info on why netscape.co.uk does not update its DMOZ lisitngs like netscape.com does. I have had seven sites in DMOZ now for over 3 months and still no show on the .co.uk Netscape, while they are on the .com

Hi Jamsy,

Now you come to mention it, hmmmm. It is up to the partners to update their copy of the directory, which is available on a two-week update cycle.

I've put a request in to find out, although, I don't expect an answer before offices re-open in the new year (if they answer at all).

Jamsy, quite right. In fairness, many people were still on holiday last week.

I'll try again.

Having checked a month later I still see a very old dmoz rdf dump within netscape.co.uk

I am pushing this because I have a number one listing in dmoz for a very competitve keyword and would like to see it on netscape also.

Can anyone tell me if i am wasting my time even worrying about this because maybe netsacpe.co.uk does not provide any traffic anyway.

There is also the issue that Netscape doesn't use the same ranking algorithm as dmoz, and the same applies to AOL.

A top position on dmoz doesn't mean that you will get decent positions on AOL or Netscape.

Thanks for this Abrexa_UK.

I will put this ghost to rest and leave netscape with their old rdf dump

Cheers :)
