UK Government Wants ISPs To Block Adult Sites [bbc.co.uk]
Government plans to block #*$!ography "at source" are unlikely to prove effective, say ISPs.

The proposal to cut off access to #*$!ographic material was floated by Culture Minister Ed Vaizey in an interview with the Sunday Times.

The government is talking to ISPs to set up a meeting at which the proposal will be discussed.

But, say experts, technical challenges mean any large scale filtering system is doomed to failure.

Filtering is easy, of course Essex County Council, Sussex County Council and all references to HRH The Earl of Wessex will be blocked, not to mention a certain town in north Lincs.

Seriously, I used to maintain a site for an arts association in Essex and Google classified our photos as "adult" because of the S E X in the word Essex so I confidently expect these sort of problems.

Parents should start being "parents" rather than passing the buck! - theres no excuse for ANY child to see adult content if the parents bothered to drag themselves away from the TV and do what they are supposed to do !
