AV Paid Inclusion shows on UK DB.

At last!

Ever since the commencement of AV's paid inclusion I have been trying various things to assess the AV algo by going for the top SEO phrase ('spelt with a 'z'). I have been changing the page for AV on a weekly basis trying adapt the phrasing plus playing with directory listings and have succeeded in getting into the top 10. I discovered this morning, with the latest paid inclusion update, that the latest page has now not only shown up in AV US but also in AV UK - also in top positions. As this page is only a few days old and purely designed for paid inclusion - it appears that paid inclusion results are now beginning to appear in the UK regional searches.

For a long time, AV UK results bore no relation to your positions in the main DB - this appears to have changed - certainly as far as paid inclusion is concerned.

Now I'll try it with a client or two.

Although AVs traffic is much lower than it was, I have had a significant increase in good referrals since enhancing my positions via paid inclusion on AV US and hope for the same via AV UK.

It seems to be effecting the entire dB, not just the paid inclusion.

Is this the time that the regional dB's have been finally laid to rest, all we seem to have now is a UK filtered .com dB. The looksmart influence also seems to have increased.

Thanks Markd!

Lots of work, holidays and a week cleaning up after Nimda have limited my length of time around WMW recently. However Nicebloke works in my office and keeps me up to date - so I'm still in touch.

Yes, NFFC - it does appear to be an across the board DB change. This makes life a little simpler (I hope).

Thanks for the heads up.
Despite spidering going on, i've not yet seen any new "standard" (unpaid) pages appear in the index, yet. Anyone see any new pages?
Perhaps the spidering was simply checking the existence of current pages.

Seen over 50 domains/subs added since they went paid. Four domains which had the root submitted have been spiderd in full [small sites], the rest have been found by following links but only have the index listed. Lots of new links showing so they must have added across the board, related pages updated also.

NFFC - Any of these domains paid in any way (eg, Looksmart)?
