Lycos uk results automatically filter OUT .com domains.
There is a simple solution to register and submit a .co.uk to the database.
Alternatively, the lycos directory will review submitted sites, assuming it's a .com based in the uk. Although, reported here [webmasterworld.com] at WebmasterWorld, there has been mixed success in getting into the directory.
The final options is a paid listing through eSpotting, reported here. [webmasterworld.com]
I hope this helps.
We have a site that ranks very well in the Lycos.com index and also at Lycos.co.uk, but only when "Internet" is selected for the search area.
Unfortunately, Lycos.co.uk appears to default to the aforementioned "English...", where the site is conspicuous by its absence.
This has puzzled me for a while - first thoughts were that it could be due to a missing "language" tag in the HEAD of the page, but examination of some of the sites that DO appear reveals this is not the case.
Does anyone know what the problem could be?
