.EU Domains & Regional Searches

Hi, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with .eu domains in the UK/Ireland regional search engines.

I've personally never come across a .eu domain in the UK's SERP's, how does google treat these?

If we look at it logically then the UK is in the EU so they should really show up in the UK/Ireland searches, but is this really the case? I'm assuming that .co.uk version of the site would have a greater chance of ranking than a .eu.

I'm not sure that anyone has had any experience of a .eu actually being used to put up a unique content website, let alone ranking in any SEs!

More seriously I have seen a uk hosted .eu showing up in the UK serps in both Google and Yahoo, however Ask and MSN both eliminate the same uk hosted .eu from their UK only results (it is in the full web results in both engines)

Thanks Ian, the site is hosted on a UK server so I guess that will help.. as long as Google see's the site as UK based that's most of the battle won!
