Our regional Gs are showing local results for some generic terms but not for others so being no.1 in "pages from Ireland/UK" is no guarantee you'll get the local "boost" in the "web search" results.
There seems to be a link text based threshold below which "local" results will remain buried, break it and you'll feature, don't and you won't.
