Looksmart express submit

When did looksmart increase there fee, now £148 + VAT

Just came to post the same thing. It went up last Thursday they tell me. :(

Just a small increase from £99 to £148!! so what additional services are they going to offer now, HA!.

On another note do you have any idea how long it normally takes for looksmart listings to show on AV.co.uk?

I'm still waiting for a .co.uk registered in early December to show up!

Maybe the 'extra services' will be an editor who will read your requested description and include it!

I think we will probably have to wait until the next price increase before that happens

Joking aside, I've had 2 clients decline the Looksmart listing today because of the price hike.

I had to agree, that for the money, coverage and benefit of receiving a fair and accurate placement with a reasonable description this is just not worth it.

I think I will be recommending investing the money in Ink, Yahoo or seeing how the land lies with other Pay for Play services.

I did pay for the express service - it's in Looksmart but nowhere in AV.

I paid through Looksmart, but wondered if it would have surfaced quicker if I had submitted through the AV to LS route.

Out of interest, where are the LS results supposed to appear in AV?

Watch out for a special offer going around.
Looksmart US are offering $169 on the Express Submit.
Sounds like they want to drop the lower cost submit.
I'd guess it must be difficult on the lower cost submit as they've got to hang on to the entry in the inbox for quite a while before getting around to it. ;)

Markd - the LookSmart listing will show up in AV's directory only, not the standard search engine results unfortunately. Have a look in there.

It would be interesting to see the stats on how many surfers use the directory results not many I bet, when you consider AV offers this as a way to express submit into AV they should make it a lot more clearer that your paid submission will be buried away
