Continuation of previous thread [webmasterworld.com]. NFFC

>bring her along...tell her you've booked a romantic weekend in London, and then a couple of days later explain that you'll have to do the candlelit dinner bit in a West End restaurant on Sunday rather than Saturday

That's exactly what I am planning to do :)

I certainly can't miss a meeting in my home town now, so I'll be seeing you all there.

I wish I could be apart of this, it would be a very good networking experience!

side note:

Rumor has it that since there are so many SEO's gathering in one spot that Google is sending out a few covert Googlebot's in full force. They will be in an unmarked GoogleMobile™ taking photographs of all who enter the Cittie of Yorke. After gathering the photographs, they will apply a unique algo to analyze who has the best PageRank™ face. Also, anyone who has a shirt width of 5 pixels, which equals a PageRank™ of 1, will have all their sites banned from the index. In addition, if you are wearing a cloak and/or have the logo of your shirt hidden from all the public on the street you will be banned as well.

I wish I could go :( But my funds don't stretch that far. Not until I start my new job in August. Maybe we can arrange something at around Krimbo time, I'll be in the UK then.

Sounds great. I'm a bit new to this forum - is this an open invite? I would really like to attend.

It certainly is, the more the merrier. It would be great1 if a lot of newer members attend, lurkers are more than welcome!

1 I keep having nightmares about getting pinned in a corner for hours by some grizzled veteran who wants to talk about how they cracked the Excite algo in 96.:)

It will be good to finally meet you all - is there going to be enough room? It's going to be a very useful day! We should do this more often...

Bummer, I have a wedding to go to that weekend. Anyone else unable to go fancy meeting another time?

There must be quite a few of us in London that would benefit from the occasional idea exchange. And the more excuses I have to go out for beer, the better.

If you wouldn't mind having a Yank attend, it's entirely possible that I will be in the UK during that time.

To confirm: July 21, Cittie of Yorke (HoIborn), Time? (Hey, I'm from the US, give me a break)

Yanks from California have an exemption due to the energy situation. Welcome to WmW

I think it would be a good idea to have name tags with our nicks on, to get the ball rolling. I mean, when we get to London, not just for everyday in the office, that would be stupid.

Yes sounds like a good idea to me.

bbgal: The time is from 1 pm until closing. More details and links in the first part of this discussion [webmasterworld.com]. Mike tells me you want to know about European search engines [webmasterworld.com]. I'll be there fully prepared to share all my hard earned knowledge. Don't forget to list yourself in the confirmed attendees discussion [webmasterworld.com] when you have decided.

Are there any more cost issues we need to consider?
- A room/bar has been booked (has this been covered? should we all contribute?)

- Food/drink (does the pub need to know numbers/orders etc)

>A room/bar has been booked (has this been covered? should we all contribute?)

The room is covered, all you need to bring is yourself:)

>Food/drink (does the pub need to know numbers/orders etc)

We are OK on that, the main Pub will be open as normal so food and drink will be freely available, that is the only thing you will need any money for.

To be more specific:

The Internet Advertsing Corporation will pick up the room.

GoToUK, Ltd will "buy a few beers"
[few is the operative word]

We are working on others to help with the food.

Sorted, or will be at the time.

Those posting confirmation in here [webmasterworld.com...] will be lucky enough to have official badges prepared. ;)

I haven't had the opportunity, until now, to give a warm welcome to all the new members here at WebmasterWorld that have posted in this thread or in the confirmation of attendance [webmasterworld.com] thread.
Delighted to see you here.

I know we're all looking forward to this event, to meet up and network, and to enjoy ourselves into the bargain. I'm pretty certain we'll all learn a great deal from each other.

Watch this space for further announcements and, we'll see you on the 21st.

Neil

And, to help spread the word, there's the official Internet Marketing PubConference site which was conceived, ummm, 2 days ago. Check it out! (Rule #1 is to have a marketable, memorable url, so it's....)

[PubConference.com...]

<added>
Oh yeah, for those of us that have trouble with Brit-speak, maybe you can remember [BarConference.com] ;)
