They have called me to try and sell a paid listing for a free one I have there. They are charging £150 a year for a listing with keywords and a URL, etc.
They have partnerships with Ask Alex, ITV and NTL.
I was quoted a search figure on their site which was half the number of searches on Yahoo! UK. That can't be right?!?
Has anyone had a good experience with them?
I think scoot,yell.com, thomsons local are primarily used by people looking for a phone number to call
My free listings with thomsons & yell have yielded , on average
1 person trying to sell me something every 3 days, for the past year :-) an
zero traffic , zero interested buyers
Scoot had a massive blaze of publicity during the dot boom, circa 2000 but , I rarely hear about them now
I agree with what you say Ian and I usually try and do this when looking at directories.
Having ignored applegate in the past we have finally signed up with them and we pleased with the amount of traffic our listing has been sending us. However, Scoot just isn't indexed as well as applegate so I doubt their figures.
