Google.co.uk - how are we all doing?

Google's uk search is fast and effective.
How are we doing with the filtered results?
The default is "world." If you click on the uk search, all the other sites are gone.
Is that a problem for those of you without a .co.uk
How do you feel about having to get a .co.uk to get into the UK index?
If you get a .co.uk, how will you protect it from becoming an mirror site of the .com?

Rain or shine, Google.co.uk sends us quality referrals (to .com's) as well as a few new .uk'ers. The kicker is, we never submitted to them. I like it.

I must admit I had only done an 'automatic' search for google uk which gave the same results as the .com
Doing a live filtered search was very pleasantly surprising ;) - on .co.uk sites only though. Whether a .co.uk pointing to the .com site would work, I'll have to find out.

Well, looks like I'm going to be able to join in the Google threads again soon. I've just had notification that I'm being unbanned today after a 3 month dialogue with a Google engineer who has been very helpful in trying to point to things which are frowned upon. Apart from them telling me to change the spelling of optimisation to optimization (which started to get me going - until I read further on that this was an April Fool joke) they continued...

"We're gonna put you back in! It may take a bit of time for it to actually happen, of course (billions of pages can't turn on a dime, unfortunately). But not too long, and happen it shall. I'll make the necessary changes for you today...."

So, my thanks to many of you who have given me moral support over the past few months. At least it taught me how to build good traffic from all the other SEs!

And thanks to Google - for despite the ban - they have treated me fairly, helpfully and always responded (not necessarily the way I would like) to all my communications.

Now, here's looking forward to the increase in traffic that everyone who is on Google has been talking about.

I'm getting quality referrals already to my .co.uks too, many unsubmitted.

Seen some tasty ranking increases on Google. For a co.uk site the UK filtered results are always flattering and I, for one, would certainly love to see the UK filer as the default search on google.UK with the world search as an option.

Google.Uk also seems to have a stable new database, at the moment.

Backus, the results on Google.co.uk are UK filtered results from the main db. So, the answer to your question is, yes.

It may be that google will seperate the database in due course (like AV and Ink). So, keep watching.
