In some of my recent searches the results have been the same as lycos.com - without their directory results - which = Fast

Currently, no Direct Hit. The lycos directory shows returns first, where there is an entry, followed by results from Alltheweb.
I like the way it also displays the domain root, in addition to the page it has found - you don't get that on Alltheweb.
That should help to identify cloaked pages - hehe.

So do I. I've a couple of clients who have completely rebuilt their sites and dropped half the urls. I don't like 404s in the top 10!

At least with the root there it's not so bad.
