..yet the Freeserve search buttons still go through ifind. Is something sinister about to break???

Now that is some detective work NFFC! Is this a possible change from using UK Plus? With Lycos wanting to promote their directory (prior to charging?) and spending a load on advertising maybe Freeserve has been offered an inducement to change?

it would be a shame to loose uk plus, I've always rated it quite high as one the few uk based search engines that are worth while submitting to.
I'm interested to know NFFC how did you come across this lycos directory on freeserve I've had a look around and can't find any links to it

I've been doing some digging (just like the doggie) and found nothing, apart from the copyright symbol dated 2001, that suggests this is new. Lycos has been a long time partner and perhaps this is just an old address. If it's new, then there's a chance this could be offering an optional alternative to the goto/ink data. I can't believe it's a change, so soon. Stranger things have been known.
