Welcome to WebmasterWorld

This topic comes up regularly and it's often because a site is not hosted on a UK server with a UK IP address.

For reference.

Note, not all UK hosting companies use UK IPs.

When I check easyspace I see US-based servers. Probably exactly how the search engines using IP geolocation see it too.

on the website about us section it says they are uk based. How do you check?

Google a DNS checker. ;)

WebmasterWorld can't recommend hosts as it's fraught with problems, especially if it goes wrong.

I think that engine meant to say that you need to check the following:

First the find the IP Address of the server that is to be hosting the site, then check that IP Address against its country of origin at the European internet address registry RIPE.
