Yahoo - Express or Not?

I want to submit for free, but can't. Anyone know why?

I am trying to submit a site to Yahoo UK and only get 'Express' submit - have they dropped free submissions, or am I doing something wrong?

Anyone?

The category you are trying to submit to is probably considered a "commercial" category by yahoo. Even though your site may not be, Yahoo considers certain categories commercial as a whole - and those categories don't have a free submission option.

Ah. Thanks.

It is commercial (my own site) but I somehow doubt I'll find the moolah to afford Yahoo submission anytime soon. Didn't realise that they had implemented this!

All commercial sites have to pay to submit - no matter what category they submit to. If you find a category not dubbed "commercial" as a whole that has a free option, if your site specifically is commercial, you would still have to pay the fee.

I figured straw was talking about the directory due to mentioning "express submit". My posts apply to that. ;-)

Try submitting to one of the other English Yahoo local directories. Some of them still offer the Free Submit option, such as Yahoo Asia.
