Ask Jeeves/Looksmart

Shame Looksmart's SE doesn't work properly!

Ask Jeeves has started showing LookSmart UK results. Unfortunately it doesn't pick up any results from their directory which have been listed through the paid program since end October - so - not a lot of use to me or my clients unless an Ask Jeeves user drills down through the categories! Espotting results also show from this morning.

UKMax and Mirago results seem to no longer be shown. Now that's a shame.

Happy new year Makemetop!

So, Mirago and UKMAX are gone. That is a shame.

For me, Askjeeves has gone severely downhill over the past 12-months.

Glad that AV & Yahoo results are still there.

Happy New Year engine and everyone. Great to be back at the grindstone!

AV still gives me good results on Ask Jeeves and I got quite a lot of traffic for a client on the run up to Christmas by having a 'where can i find.....' phrase or two on UKMax, but with no Inktomi listings now shown - so much for that idea. I'm still booted out of Google so nothing shows up for me on Yahoo as AJ only appears to list the google.yahoo results - not the directory listings.

I did get one New Year's present though. I've got a load of listings in Direct Hit which showed up yesterday - after a year of waiting!

Yes, back at the virtual grindstone!

Without AV & Yahoo AJ would be a pale shadow of its original self. Can you have a pale shadow?

Well done of Direct Hit. It is starting to play a valuable role - especially with the more popular sites. It's not so good for the new, less popular or younger sites. The big sites get bigger while the small get nowhere!

How would one go about becoming one of the results partners on Ask Jeeves? A couple of clients have asked this in my email box this morning (prob due to Espotting turning up there)

Happy new year Severina.

Try this link [corporate.ask.com] for the solution I think you are asking.
