Freeserve.co.uk no longer exists as a seperate site and now points to Wanadoo.co.uk

Time to update all those stats packages.

I think that's a really silly move.

freeserve.com - simple to spell, easily memorable and excellent brand awareness...

wanadoo.com - difficult for many people to spell no doubt, no brand awareness and not that simple to remember...

I realise that the French company want to bring everything inline to reduce costs, continuity etc, but time will tell whether this is a wise move.

it's been like that for a couple weeks now, I use it occassionally for email..

They are advertising pretty heavily on TV, so brand awareness should be just around the corner.

I quite like the name Wanadoo. But they changed it, so it's done.

They've got so much money to waste, it was time for the timely "let's waste loads of cash on a new logo, that will most likely cost us loads more cash to advertise and build up again"

All the engines copy each other. One decides to revamp their site, and all follow suit.

Lycos did it, Tiscali did it and so did MSN.

Lets all waste tons of cash so we can exercise a bit of power and flash our status a bit lol.

I don't know how much Freeserve paid for the new logo - but you can bet it wasn't cheap!

Sorry to be technical but Freeserve didn't actually pay for the new logo, its the logo of the french company Wanadoo that took them over.

On the home page before the major change they used to have Freeserve - A Wanadoo Company on their site, so built some awareness on their site but they have sprung a LOT of adverts up in the UK.

As for bandwidth, its only capped for new members (I've still got unlimited).

Okay, so the French paid Dixons. What's the point of splitting hairs.

A ton of cash was paid for it.
