Short-term drop in search engine traffic

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone else in the UK has noticed a sharp downfall in the traffic coming to their sites from search engines in the last 24 hours.

I normally see traffic waver between a certain low-point and a certain high-point. But since about midday yesterday my search engine referrals have gone down to about 30-40% of their median level.

Now, I've had a look on all of the major search engines where I'm listed and nothing appears to have changed. My rankings appear the same and the proportion of pages referred by the various search engines appears the same.

My very basic conclusion (based on a little knowledge and a lot of hope) is that there have just been far fewer people searching in the last 24 hours.

Does this happen? Has anyone else in the UK noticed a severe drop in search engine referrals in the last 24 hours? Is everyone just out in their local beergarden enjoying the weather - or is it just me and do I need to worry?

Jenkers, welcome to WebmasterWorld.

I'm not sure I can see a pattern at the moment. There are the usual sites up and the usual sites down. On that basis, i'd think there's been nothing unusual.
