msn uk results used to be simply looksmart uk, the secondary results for msn.com were ink. Are now the msn uk results from ink feeds? If so how do they filter them geographically.

I never got alot of traffic from msn so i didnt renew my ink listings recently, msn uk was covered by looksmart uk listings, that didnt get much traffic but it is better for me then the regular msn, so how do you get back in msn uk now.

Yes the msn co uk backfill is entirely Ink with its stringent geo-targetting. The geo bit I think is done partly thru filtering IP addresses or domains. There could be other factors which someone may reveal.

As for how you get back in - well obviously some sites will get picked up cheaply thru the ink spider. Provided you have decent links you should see your site somewhere on msn uk without PFI (pay for inclusion). You also need to optimise your site for Ink altho most google freindly sites will do well.

To be safe you could / should pay for pfi to start the ball rolling again but remember if your site isnt adequately optimised for Ink you still wont get good results.

New Ink PFI listings dont have quite the benefit we once thought because there will be no double whammy with an inclusion in Yahoo. Site match is the new Yahoo pfi product and you should take a look at that if you want max coverage. There is plenty to read about site match in the yahoo forum.

Id also recommend the WW site search for msn/ink related threads which will help you in making your decisions.

check the brand new "microsoft search" forum as well - looks like things are moving ahead sooner than expected
