What are the biggest online communites in the UK? I'm thinking in very general terms - obviously there's Friends Reunited - what are the other big ones?

All the big UK dating web sites such as Dating Direct and Match.com

Erm, no offence, but the title of this thread isn't really what I'm looking for.

It's not dating agencies necessarily, or friends.

I mean literally any online community.

For example, by trade - are there large communities of builders somewhere, or lawyers?

Like a lot of SEO types hang out here, I'm sure there are other large communities hanging about in othere areas.

Are there popular websites that people tend to hang out at that attract people of a certain ilk? or people at a particular stage in their life?

Gay communities - old people, yes.. singles - but there's a lot more than that.

Not necessarily forums either, but perhaps some version of. I was hoping for a bit of brainstorming activity - sure it would be beneficial.

Take it from me - Nicebloke knows how to pull the birds.

I wouldn't mind betting that there is a massive ManUnited community online. (Any a very much smaller Notts Forest one).

My thought is that you should find communities based around a theme. Smaller, but more targeted.
