Following a twitter poll where Elon Musk asked if he should step down from twitter, and the poll resulted in a yes vote, he's now confirmed he will step down. The caveat is that it's when he finds a new CEO.

Poll results were
Yes: 57.5%
No: 42.5%

I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I will just run the software & servers teams.

Stepping down is not stepping away. Musk also revealed he'd be taking over the tech and servers side of the company after he finds "someone foolish enough" to be CEO.

Still owns the company, but this move does remove the slings and arrows of Musk Flames from the front page. Perhaps there is magic in the method?

Time will tell.

note to investors in twitter, tesla, etc:
now that i have used our $44B investment to rid myself of that pesky tracker account, i will no longer waste my time issuing and repealing ill-advised executive pronouncements regarding twitter.
instead i will get elbow deep in the most mundane and arcane aspects of operating the twitter platform.

note to investors in twitter, tesla, etc:

- Any investor of Twitter is a private investor, it's not a public company anymore.

- Elon didn't use Tesla funds to buy Twitter, he used his own.

- If you publicly hate on a person because they have different views you're not any better than they. "He/She's not part of our inclusive group" is not inclusive at all. You build NOTHING inclusive when you go around excluding what you don't like.

- Zuckerberg, in comparison, wants to stick your kids in a virtual world. I'd rather live on Mars than exist in a digital only world, but that's just me.

Any investor of Twitter is a private investor, it's not a public company anymore.

this is a well-known fact - it has probably been mentioned in every thread re:twitter here recently.
i was thinking of people like larry ellison regarding twitter investors.
as far as TSLA is concerned, it's still public and its market cap is currently 10X what was spent on Twitter.
btw Tesla's market cap was over a trillion (with a T) before the twitter distraction.

Elon didn't use Tesla funds to buy Twitter, he used his own.

Elon took $40B (with a B) out of his TSLA holdings in 2022...

If you publicly hate on a person because they have different views...

that's a steaming pile of assumption there...

Zuckerberg, in comparison, ...

whatabout this guy...
