Twitter has updated its policies relating the the spread of Covid-19 potentially harmful and misleading information which could result in users getting banned after five warning strikes. Twitter will add labels and use human and eventually automated processes to determine the content violations, and at the outset, it'll be English language only.

One strike: no account-level action
Two strikes: 12-hour account lock
Three strikes: 12-hour account lock
Four strikes: 7-day account lock
Five or more strikes: permanent suspension

Who decides what is misinformation? Its definitely making them a lot more of a publisher rather than a medium.

I wonder whether they will ban public figures or governments who spread vaccine or covid misinformation - President Macron, the government of Tanzania and a few others come to mind!

If you didn't get the chance to read the document, twitter says it will work with authoritative sources.
Labels will first be applied by our team members when they determine content violates our policy. Those assessments will be used to further inform our automated tools and to advance our proactive capacity to identify and label similar content across the service.

As health authorities deepen their understanding of COVID-19 and vaccination programs around the world, we will continue to amplify the most current, up-to-date, and authoritative information.

That suggests to me that if it's not an authoritative source it may get "labelled".
