Twitter is calling for public feedback [survey.twitterfeedback.com] on its draft verifications policy [help.twitter.com], and plans to restart the program with a new applications process in early 2021. The general policy still applies that the account must be notable and active.

It'll start with some sectors first, namely;-
  • Government
  • Companies, Brands and Non- Profit Organizations
  • News
  • Entertainment
  • Sports
  • Activists, Organizers, and Other Influential Individuals

It's gotten so bad over on Twitter that I usually try to avoid following their so-called verified accts.
We've been learning over the years that if you see a blue check mark, you run the other direction as fast as you can.

Twitter rewards "noise" with a blue check mark.

PR move, perhaps too little too late considering 2020 in general.
