Twitter's night mode is coming to desktop. The mode was already on iOS and Android.

Night mode turn the pages dark blue, and once it's rolled out to you, you'll see the option on your profile photo on the top right.

[twitter.com...]

I might just leave that enabled all the time.

Night mode was one of the reasons I used TweetDeck for most of my Twitter access. Nice that they have it on the desktop now too. I find that easier on the eyes.

Never a fan on white text on very dark backgrounds. Reminds me of the early days of home pages, circa 1997.

I'd prefer terminal mode with some nice amber or green text, but I can live with the white text on black. No nostalgia for the monitors from the really old days? ;)

I still have a Mac classic from 1990. It's dedicated to signal sequencing in my studio. Clients always get a kick out of it... "Wow, is that what they used to look like?"

I was talking about the classic 1980's terminal look. Mac always had nicer screens than that...

Not sure if it's related, but I just noticed YouTube also has a night-mode setting now. This is great!

Well that's what it is :)

The Mac Classic, while issued in 1990, is a recreated version of the 1980 s model... hense the "classic"

But anyway, dark backgrounds do something to my eyes after a while. Seems like my eyes have to work overtime negotiating the text.

To each his own.

Absolutely. My PowerShell screen is set to green on black - just like the old 3270's
