Twitter Warns Users Over 33 Million Username and Passwords Leaked Online

According to twitter, the 33 million usernames and passwords were not leaked from twitter's servers, and it indicates they may be the result of a hack into people's computers. Of course, if they are leaked, then the passwords ought to be changed. Twitter says it has alerted users that may be suspected of being leaked.

In each of the recent password disclosures, we cross-checked the data with our records. As a result, a number of Twitter accounts were identified for extra protection. Accounts with direct password exposure were locked and require a password reset by the account owner.
