I just received an email today from twitter about paid for advertising. I have already set up a draft campaign.

What are people's experience with Ad service running in the US how does it compare with Google ads?

Do you prefer one or the other, do both work effectively? I'm guessing you get two very different types of customer.

Yeah, I received that too. Where's my 100 voucher by the way? :))

You're right in guessing that they are two very different types. But I'd also add that we're probably not talking of "customers" at all.

What I've understood from looking at successful campaigns in the U.S. version of Twitter ads is that it's nothing like the Google Ads and it takes a different frame of mind.

Twitter ads are not great for selling stuff but they're great for engaging with people whom you might sell to some time in the future. And the most important factor is what happens after the initial promoted tweet - how is the engagement nurtured and converted.

Just getting into it, having a hard time understanding it all. reports say we spent $60+ the first day but they only charged us $16 and can't find any way to correlate the payment with the spend.

As for response, we're really just going for branding, not seeing much in the way of conversion.

Hi Guys thanks for the reply I pretty much agree with your statements regarding branding and engagements.

A voucher would have been nice I could have at least done some testing.
