Making money from twitter?

Hello!
I happen to register some really interesting twitter usernames, mostly geo, and I want to know if there is a way monetizing twitter traffic.
For now I m using other websites feeds in order to update my twitter accounts since my followers are mostrly looking about news and updates related to the twitter name associated with their state.
I ve found one service like mylikes that lets you monetize your tweets but I cant figure out if its twitter tos compliant so I m very skeptical using it.

I'm not sure there are many third party tools that enable monetization of twitter. If there are, twitter would want a slice of the pie or to acquire them.

I wonder if they will ever be.
My metrics show interesting stuff for twitter compared to fb when it comes to promoting a product or service.

I've used MyLikes as an advertiser. It is a total waste of money. But I know a bloke who makes $50 per month monetizing his Twitter account with MyLikes. If that's the sort of income you're talking about, you can achieve it with just a few thousand followers.

If you're serious about making money, create a product or bundle a package of affiliate products. And you need tens of thousands of targeted followers to be able to make money there.

Yep, treat it like website marketing or link development. Do lots of high quality stuff, get lots of real followers interested in your stuff, then drop some mentions.

Once you've got the traffic/followers, then you can monetize in any way you like.

I'm going the paid tweet route. Haven't made any money yet, but I'm confident I will over the next year or two. $2/follower bay-beee!
