Hi so I've stopped using bit.ly as a url shortener. Now I don't have access to clicks on my social media posts (twitter / facebook).

Is there any way tin Google Analytics I can find clicks on URLs I've posted on Facebook and Twitter? Thanks!

Anyone want to help or point out a resource on the web to do the above? Or this is the wrong subform? Thanks!

If there's some way to use Google Analytics for this purpose you might find better help in the Analytics and Tracking [webmasterworld.com] forum, though I don't see how you can add GA code to your FB and twitter posts.

Have you thought about using your own "shortened" URLs that you can track?

Yes thanks, I use buffer and I read on google that I can use UTM Parameters on my links and check via GA then. However buffer enables this feature for its $99 monthly plan.. so it's out of bound for now.

I checked hootsuite social media manager and it has utm parameters on its $20 per month plan. Has anyone used Hootsuite for their social links? Thanks!

You can use Analog [mirror.reverse.net]

It's free and highly customizable. You install it on your local machine. You download your raw server access logs, then open them with Analog to display various information.

That analog last update was 2004 though?

So what? It's not milk.

You're looking for a way to see who & how many are clicking through from Facebook. Analog is one way to do it. Works great.

The reason I like software like Analog is it doesn't add code to your pages. It doesn't slow down the page load... and in the day of GDPR it isn't tracking on your site that you have to account for.
