Search Console coverage shows only 'not submitted'

Howdy, fellow netizens!
Hope you're staying home and playing it safe.

I wonder if someone else is also seeing this: A site has a valid sitemap (it's an index sitemap, and all children are showing Success).
However, the only valid type of page showing on the Coverage report is Indexed, not submitted in sitemap. Not a single Submitted and indexed !
Sounds like the sitemap (with a few thousands of URLs) is read/processed, but not used for indexing? Is this a cause for concern?
