Is anybody elses search console on google a bit of a mess?
If I use url inspection is brings details up about the page fetched. No matter what page I request it allways states 'Indexed, not submitted in sitemap'.
The first thing people will think to say and do is check your sitemap.
So under sitemaps on console I look and yep there it is my sitemap with date submitted, status, number or urls discovered etc. (its a 7 year old site and always had a sitemap)
When i dig deeper in sitemaps data there are hundreds of urls listed as valid, submitted and indexed - including those urls that url inspection says are NOT submitted in a sitemap.
I think they may be too busy messing the serps up. Google are really starting to irritate me lately, its like the only thing they are interested in and concentrating on at the moment is monetizing everything they do to the max while everything else is taking a back seat.
Ive also made changes to quite a few of my pages lately, only layout and delivery changes in order to make them faster on mobile seen as all my properties are now on mobile first indexing.
My pages now load twice as fast on mobile (fully loaded, first paint etc) all nearly halfed for mobile, content is the same and most of the pages I request re-indexing on which are all now faster on mobile have actually declined a couple of positions, wtf is that all about! Some have actually improved, i would say half and half.
Im half tempted just to re-upload the old versions again.
