Is it normal for a browser to request filelist.xml and editdata.mso?

what or why is filelist.xlm and editdata.mso being requested?

Occasionally I see the files filelist.xml and editdata.mso being requested by someone or something browsing my website. Parts of my site might have been created or edited using Microsoft Front-page in the past, and my hunch is that those 2 files are created by front-page (and only front page?).

I've deleted those files from my site, but there still might be references to them on some .html pages.

My question: Is it "normal" for a human-operated browser to be making requests for filelist.xml and editdata.mso during the course of browsing a website? What do those files contain that would aid the browser to better render the site or page for the benefit of the human operator?
