I have two WordPress installs on one domain. One runs the main site content and the other runs the blog. I want to know if it is in order for me to submit a sitemap to GWMT for each separate WordPress install....so essentially 2 sitemaps for the 1 domain. They will not be of duplicate urls. Is this acceptable in the eyes of google?
tks

I have multiple sitemaps for the same domain, organized by specific sections. Google has been happy for years with them.

By having multiple, smaller sitemap files, you can get more granular information about which URLs have been indexed.

I think the only limitations for sitemaps is

No larger than 10MB, or more than 50,000 urls each site map, with a sitemap index of up to 1,000 sitemaps which, itself, cannot exceed 10MB

In all, about 50,000,000 urls possible.
