I am going to try unavailable_after for image files in our website. But this
2007 help page from Google [googleblog.blogspot.in] says that the tag is supported only for web search results. Does anyone know if Google has started supporting it for image search results. They does support the tag for image files.
Is it true that
unavailable_after stops crawling and indexing [support.google.com] but noindex tag stops indexing but not crawling?
Is it necessary that the image file should be moved from its original location after the date specified in the unavailable_after tag for Google to respect it?
Also will Google return an image file in image search provided that Google understands that the page in which the image was present is now a 404. I know a lot of questions to be answered! Thanks.
