I have a site that has a regular xml sitemap and it works fine..somehow in my wmt and my error logs google keeps looking for an sitemap.php am i missing something?
i have never submitted a php sitemap and also in the webmaster tools there is no option to delete this php sitemap only an option to delete my xml sitemap.
what should i do (if anything) to tell google this does not exist....do i redirect the php sitemap? as i do not know how to remove it.
thanks for your time

no there is not phranque.....should i just block it there?
the file is coming up 404 so i assumed that george would stop looking for it after awhile but it has been now for almost 4 months and spends more time looking for this sitemap.php than anything else.

no, not blocking - i was referring to Specifying the Sitemap location in your robots.txt file [sitemaps.org].

are the requests coming from an inbound link or these all unreferred?
