I had submitted my sitemap to google webmaster but theres a prob

I have read the FAQs and checked for similar issues: YES
My site's URL is: www.example.com
Description (including timeline of any changes made):
I have a site www.example.com and I have submitted my sitemap to google thru webmaster tools but thers a prob that
It shows that URLs submitted is 500 but indexed url is only 8
So man why only 8 ....
i guess the indexed url shld be 500 tooo if i am not wrong ?

Assuming you have 500 pages that all have significant amounts of unique and relevant text with many, many websites linking to these pages then yes you should have more than 8 pages indexed.

Assuming your site is relatively new and doesn't have alot of quality content or links (internal & external links) that only having 8 pages indexed sounds normal.

To boost the amount of your pages that are indexed you should:

1) ensure each page has paragraphs of unique text not found anywhere else
2) build a strong link profile including links from external sites and properly interlink your internal pages
