100's of html need to add tags to

Can anyone out there tell of a good offline meta tag generator? I have tried to use spider SEO (and it works great on a small list of files) I need to find something that can gen tags for a couple of hundred files. Thanks

It is very hard to generate useful and relevant meta tags on a very large scale. I have not seen an off the shelf program that does a great job. You will find a certain percentage meta tags end up with not very pretty results.

I have found it is usually easier if the programmer has access to your database file and can then use certain fields of your database to generate the meta tags. Some people have outsourced this job overseas. If you are only looking to do a few hundred pages you may just want to hire a work at home mom.

Without knowing your site and your data it is hard to recommend the best solution for you. I would suggest you identify your most important pages and invest the time to manually perfect those meta tags.

ps i assume you are talking about title tag and meta description since the other meta tags are usually not very valuable to webmasters

Correct. However the data is generated from (RoboHelp) has been around for a very long time. Its all SCC and built on the fly and over the years has not been maintained with the meta data. If I can get a product to get the initial tags built I can then have my doc person refine moving forward. I have tried SpiderSEO it works well but only on a small subset of the files. So if anyone knows of support of this product please pass along.
