sendmail/qmail problem

works on one server and not another

Hi,

I have 2 servers, both use qmail, both have sendmail linked to the qmail sendmail.

sendmail works on one server and not on the other.
I have tried calling the qmail-sendmail exe directly and it still doesn't work on the problem server.

The 2 php.ini files seem identical - is there anything else I could look at?

Maybe your host could be blocking that port or you made an error in installation?

Check some of these factors first :)

Thanks for the advice but I'm pretty sure everything is installed okay.

The server that has the problem has many sites on it and normal email works for all the sites as does the PHP - been using heavy php on them for a couple of years.
This is the first time I have tried to use sendmail on the box.

I was wondering if anyone knew any config files I could check or any permissions I need to look at (using linux) etc.

Just a thought: try running sendmailconfig and see whether it reports any errors.

Edit: hmm, looks like that script is only available on Debian...
