is there an 'InterDev' or do you need the studio?

I want to crack on and have a play with ASP.NET and I know I can do this without the Visual Studio tools, but I've had a good look at them and they look quite nice.

What I'm wondering is if there is some kind of InterDev.NET that can be purchased separately as with VS6. If not, what's the next most affordable route to ASPX development with VS.NET?

I've had a good root about and can't find a definitive answer to my question anywhere.

Thanks

Josh

Visual InterDev has been absorbed into VB.NET. There is no InterDev.NET, because there doesn't need to be one. In InterDev version 6, the code you wrote was interpreted VBScript, a kind of stripped down Visual Basic. In VB.NET, the code is compiled full Visual Basic, and uses the same tool that you would use for creating a local Visual Basic program.

So the closest thing is the Standard Visual Basic.NET [pcconnection.com].
