I'm planning to put together a non-commercial site that will include:
1) Classifieds that allow photos. Ideally no registration would be required to post an ad, other than perhaps a password so the poster can edit/delete.
2) Image Photo Galleries. Ideally a script that can generate thumbnails. I liked the one on mikespice.com, but it seems to require Image Magick and I don't think that can be installed on a virtual server.
3) Message board. Actually I like the one on this site! I understand that most message boards require a registration, but I'm okay if registration is not required. I just want it to have a clean, crisp, professional look.
Did I mention I'm a novice? I'm looking for CGI/Perl scripts that are not terribly complicated to install. Since this is not a commercial venture, I'm hoping to go the least expensive route possible ... so freeware or low-cost suggestions are most welcome.

1- I'd use some sort of email verification (send them a password) so that you don't get adult pictures posted.
2- There are many free thumbnail generators. (try hotscripts.com perl section)
