Is it possible to create a simple perl script that can take a bunch of sound files (e.g. .wav .wmf) and select one randomly then somehow start it playing on a web page that is cross browser (IE, Firefox, Netscape, Opera) compatible.
I can manage the coding of the script - I really just need advice on making it work for MOST browsers.

I guess its kinda simple - just output embed tag or bgsound tag depending on browser type.
