Script doesn't execute from one PC

This one has me scratching my head. I'm using a forum admin program - it's a Perl cgi script, and a thread move is a link with a URL in this format:

[example.com...]

From my two desktops, one hardwired and one wireless, the script executes with no difficulty. From my wireless laptop, I get the following error:

Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer

It's very reproducible... but this is the only oddity I've observed on this PC. Other scripts execute fine. Any ideas?

Hey Rogerd,

The only thing I can think of is to try encoding the URL. I may be way off, but the two .html strings in there could be throwing it off.

Sorry, that's all I could think of. Is your laptop connecting through a router or cellular?

Edited for typos

Sounds like a client side issue.

Have you tried a browser other than IE on the laptop?

Also, do you by any chance have something in your laptops host file that might be causing it?

Another possibility..has the laptop taken any MS patches that the others haven't that might be...ahem...buggy?

I thought about trying Netscape last night, but didn't get a chance yet. It's the only machine running XP Home, which could be another variable. I can run this using XP Pro from my office, though. This PC is the only one I've seen with a problem.

I'd definitely try netscape when you get a chance. Could provide a bit more information as to where the problem is.
