We're planning a Perl based forum using Gossamer Threads product and would like to integrate rss feeds into it.
The reason for us using GT is that it will enable an overall integrated solution with the other software that we have developed with them for our e-commerce website. We do understand that VBulletin and phpBB are much further developed products on a stand alone basis, or with someone who controls the programming in php.

We would then like to add a number of rss feeds to key categories of our site. The feed title would appear as a new forum under this category, with the feed items appearing as topics.

I think we have 2 ways to go and we obviously have cost and quality in mind, either do it from scratch or use something else that's out there.

We would prefer not to spend a couple of days implementing a new script if there is something available.

Any ideas on how to do this cheaply, and what it might cost, without compromising quality or interfering with our very helpful developers?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this.

nah - you aren't going to be able to find a addon hack for that unless something has specifically done one for GT (which is good software imho).

The original post is from April 2007 Brett. Seems a bit long in the tooth by now.
