Looking for script

I need a Perl script that will break long .html pages into smaller sections from the server side.

It would be nice if the script would break the page into separate links (like Page 1, Page 2,...)

I've seen a scipt that would do this but have lost the link. Thanks in advance :)

Froggy, I've not come across anything that does exactly what you want, but there's a whole pile of content management scripts here [hotscripts.com] at hotscripts.com - maybe something in there will do the job?

Yup, check out thecgisite.com or hotscripts. You should be able to find something to solve what you want. ;)

No luck so far in finding one. Just keeping this post fresh.

The script is needed for a heavily visited bulletin board. I am tired of maintaining it and cannot destroy it because of it's popularity. It's using an old script and modifying would be next to impossible without rewriting the entire source code.

Keep looking for me! :) Thanks

Just to clarify, are you saying the old bulletin board script generates an html page that gets longer and longer and you want a script that will prune it and put the chopped off bits on to older pages as kind of an archive?
It sounds like if you really cant change the script yourself then perhaps you should try and get hold of an alternative system and let the visitors know the old board is still there for reference but that they should use the new (hopefully more self-maintaining)system.

It doesnt actually sound too difficult to write the kind of script you are asking for, but rather than a couple of old scripts tagged together you might want to make a fresh start with a BB system like Ikonboard ( [ikonboard.com...]

I'm not interested in pulling a Google on the orriginal board. People like it and are not interested in the switch. The same people frequent the old board daily and the new visitors go where the action is, period. I did write another forum script with the all the frilly features and they just aren't interested.

Anyhow, I don't rely on script hosting services (they're a dime a dozen). Worst thing a serious webmaster could do (unless your the landlord, maybe). Especially for content related stuff.

Thanx anyhow.

PS: Unless you have info on the script I am looking for, please do not post to this message.

No need to get your claws out :)

Btw I don't know what you mean by script hosting services, I didnt suggest that and write and maintain my own scripts.
