Working on a search script...need help

I am working on a search script and all is going well, except for a few things. I am searching data stored in text files. Here is what I am having difficulties with:

1. I would like to figure out how to bring up products that have, for example, the word computers, the search script see "computer" and lists that product.

2. I need to allow my users to use the standard search operators, i.e. quotes(""), do not include (-).

If anyone could help me with these few things, I would GREATLY appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Full text search is too complicated subject for a beginner to struggle with. I'd use one of the freeware search engines that you can easily plug into your app, like ht://dig, mnogosearch, etc.
