CGI script code

Hello,

I just bought my new web space and I uploaded my cgi script editing permissions and paths properly (script already ran on other server)but when I call it in my browser, it read and shows to me the code,just like a textpad, instead to execute it.
Someone could enlight me about why that happens?

Is it in cgi-bin or another folder?

It is in the main folder.there is no cgi bin directory.

Sounds like a httpd server issue. If they are running Apache you might be able to add an .htaccess file with the appropriate directives.

Options ExecCGI
Add Handler cgi-script .cgi

But I'd suggest contacting their tech support or looking for an FAQ about enabling perl scripts.

Just one thought (and I'm sure you've checked) but does your webs pace actually come with cgi/perl access?

Sounds obvious I know but I have come across this before where people have got the wrong type of hosting!
